Computer Associates International (NYSE: CAI) purchased the stock of Snare Networks Corporation in September 1999. Bengur Bryan & Company, Inc. advised Snare Networks on its financial and strategic alternatives and subsequently initiated and negotiated the transaction. In addition, Bengur Bryan provided equity capital to Snare Networks.
Snare Networks is a software developer that provides networks security products to large enterprises, service providers and government agencies. Its flagship product, SnareNet VPN provides end-to-end encryption from any client workstation or server to any other server. SnareNet VPN integrates with major authentication systems including public key infrastructure, tokens, and smartcards. SnareNet VPN is centrally administered and exercises leading network and systems management platforms including Computer Associates’ Unicenter TNG for defining and implementing security policy.
