Bengur Bryan identified Universal as a strategic acquirer seeking to expand its geographical scope and assisted in the negotiations in the $12,650,000 cash transaction.

BERS is a leading full-service medical equipment rental company supplying health care providers with state-of-the art, income producing medical equipment and technical services, primarily in the Southeastern U.S. Principally through alternative rental programs, the Company provides a wide variety of medical equipment for use by various segments of the health care market including hospitals, home health care companies, nursing homes, surgical centers and clinical research laboratories. The Company, through its highly trained professional and technical staff, also provides its customers a full range of related support services, including full-service maintenance, in-service training and technical and delivery support.

Universal Hospital Services (NASDAQ:UHOS), based in Bloomington, Minnesota, is a $70 million market cap provider of movable medical equipment through pay-per-use equipment management programs to more than 2,700 hospitals and other health care providers primarily in the mid-western U.S. In addition, UHOS provides support services including equipment delivery, training, technical and educational support, inspection and maintenance. The acquisition of BERS allows UHOS to gain a large market share in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia and base to expand into the southeastern U.S.
